The Bangalore Astronomical Society - First Anniversary

It all started an year ago, the humble beginning was off a community on orkut . While April 21st, 2006 was when the parent community came into existence, it was but only in July that there was a formal meeting. July 22nd marks that date when 8 of us met up at cubbon park and brainstormed about a group that would be oriented towards all walks of astronomy. Cubbon Park has continued to be our venue for almost all get-togethers, seminars and meetings ever since and we've to the extent possible,(as a society) maintained the virtues we started off with.

22nd of July, 2007 will mark one year off a journey and an experience at establishing a society that set out to make a difference to the astronomy circles in the garden city of India. We request everybody's presence on this ocassion, To commemorate achievements so far, recap the lighter moments through the year and most important of all, to brainstorm new brew-ups, strategies, plans for BAS to implement in the years to come.
