Yelagiri again - 14th April !
Place Info : 180KM from Bangalore in all. Close to Vaniyambadi enroute to Chennai
Skies : Exxxxxcellent
Yelagiri's the place where we first sighted Comet Mcaught... and for the firsts, It was where we had southern skies good enough to sight LMC and Tarantula !
So how many in ? Please reply asap so that we can sort transport and accomodation issues out.. THis will be 1 hell of a trip

We need to make it BIG this time..with more number of people and a much more memorable trip than last time..the more participants with us the more better.
I'm in anyway for this "as usual"..unless something really urgent comes up at the last moment..which is very unlikely :)
And guess what..one coincidence! Our first trip here at Yelagiri was made on 13th and 14th January 2007, and this time too our date is falling on the same date 14th April. Wont it be good to have it on the same date then? :-)
Yup. We will make it big. Post it on orkut too.
me... i'm in for the trip.... let us know about the transport because my 8"f/6 depends on it...

Can you please share the cost of the trip.
I'll let you know the status of Kshama and her other friend, Chandrika from REAP who had come to CREST program. Some more days are what they want as this is too early to tell.
On the other hand we have few more people confirmed for this trip and they will let me know by this Saturday, 31st March. We have Shree Lakshmi coming, the same girl who joined us at Hemanth's place for Krishnagiri-2 event. She said her few more friends might join in, say around 2 more.
And an addition to the number of telescopes above, Akarsh's 8" f/8 which is brought back to the city for re-furnishing, re-alumnization of the mirror and converting it to a new dobsonian telescope. So we have one additional scope coming along: Akarsh's 8" f/8 equatorial mount which is NOW going to be a dobsonian telescope.
Omkar, thanks for confirming. Abha.. We're not sure. We can come up with a definitive figure only once we've confirmed the number of registrants and inturn, the transport.

We can have a maximum of 20 individuals. Pending confirmations may come asap else the remaining seats may be grabbed by somebody else.
Deadline : by 5th april or soon as 20 are in. Whichever comes earlier. Cost of the trip : Rs 750 - Rs 1000
Other terms and conditions :
(1) We are not liable to be held responsible for prevalent sky conditions on the date of the trip. We can merely try to take all precautions possible.. Weather discrepancies and troble are part and parcel of astronomy. No hard feelings or complaints in this regard though fate forbid nothing drastic happens
(2) Registrants once (registrations are) finalised, shall be expected to mail their credentials (Name, Age, Contact Information) to info@bas.org.in. If you're signing somebody up.. you may do this on their behalf. Just be sure to mention their names and contact info along with yours.
Further Info : We'll be staying at Hotel O' Nila, Yelagiri. Transport in all probability will be a 22-seater Swaraj Mazda. Food will be arranged at the hotel. Minimal luggage to be brought along. Yelagiri wont be cold. Cameras, Red lights, star charts and other astro paraphernalia may be brought along. Further Info shall be provided later.
