Bangalore Astronomical Society Presents Astro-Painting Contest for Students

Bangalore Astronomical Society Presents its first state level Astro-Painting contest.

Summary of the rules.
1. Contest on December 20, 2008. 18:00 IST
2. Open to students who are not more than 16 years and not less than 12 years of age as on 1st Jan 2008. One Entry per student. Resident of Karnataka State.
3. Submit your original painting related to any aspect of astronomy with a description not exceeding 200 words
4. Rupees 100/-(one hundred only) per entry as contest entry fee

The Prize consists of:
1. Publication of Winner's name and Astro-Painting on BAS Site for 1 year.
2. All Winners will be taken on a full sponsored tour (from Bangalore) to visit Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur, which has one of the largest optical telescope in Asia.
3. Participate in One day Workshop on Astronomy.
4. 10 winners will be selected.

Winner list will be announced on January 1st 2009
